Workers Compensation Benefits

Under Georgia's workers' compensation system, if you have been involved in an on-the-job injury, you may be entitled to the payment of medical benefits for treatment and testing related to the injury.  You may also be entitled to income benefits to compensate you for lost earnings and permanent disability due to the injury.  Often, an injured employee would like to try to resolve his or her workers' compensation claim by a lump sum settlement with the employer and the insurance company.

Georgia's workers' compensation system is based on a combination of statutes, case law decisions, and Board rules.  Therefore, it is important that you are represented by an attorney who has the knowledge and experience to help you through the process of seeking Georgia workers' compensation benefits or evaluating your claim for settlement.

The initial consultation is free. There is no attorney fee if you do not recover income benefits or settlement money (also know as a "contingent" attorney fee arrangement).  Contingent attorneys' fees refers only to those fees charged by attorneys for their legal services. Such fees are not permitted in all types of cases. Court costs and other additional expenses of legal action usually must be paid by the client.  Often, such costs and expenses are advanced by the firm and paid out of settlement proceeds at the conclusion of the claim.
